CS:GO and smurfing...
So there was another Friday night when I played all night and stayed up until sunrise. I was really pumped because I thought I was finally reaching the top tier, aiming to become a global elite. As soon as I entered a random lobby and clicked accept quickly, I felt my confidence grow. But I didn’t realize it was the start of my downfall. I began with a warm-up, placing them in spawn without giving them space to breathe. Little did I know they were part of a team with less than 30 hours of active service, so no matter how hard we fought, we wouldn’t win. The game went on: 4:16 didn’t break my spirits, so I tried again, only to face the same team and the same outcome. At 8:16 I thought maybe a third time could change things, but I was still doubting myself. By 6:16 it felt like the match was getting repetitive, so I gave it one more shot—same result again. I’m not sure who won that round, but my hope is fading. Have you ever played this game before?
I've encountered more smurfs and hackers in CSGO after 100 hours than any other game with 400 hours or more.
It’s fine that people use smurf accounts, do you want to improve your skills? Just play smarter players and remember not everyone uses them just to beat lower-ranked opponents. When I’m playing with friends, I rely on a second account because they’re much weaker, and I don’t think banning smurfers is too extreme. *2012*
It would also be great to mention that competing against a smurf is one of the most rewarding experiences possible. You understand your limitations in the game, which motivates you to push yourself further and improve.
I really dislike this. Although I understand that progress comes from consistent effort, being a Supreme Master First Class or Legendary Eagle Master doesn’t compensate for that. These individuals have spent countless hours mastering the game, and their skill makes competition unfair. Rank systems exist for a reason—they ensure matches are played between players at similar levels. Disrupting these systems by playing lower ranks or using hacks feels like cheating from my perspective. Match Making matters because it connects people with others who match their abilities.
You shouldn't react negatively to a smurf. They usually appear for reasons like: seeking fun with less experienced players, enjoying carefree play, or trying to dominate others in the group. I regret it if you encounter one, but you can use their presence to improve your skills. Play as much as you can and learn from them, even if you lose. I’ve played a few smurfs during my Nova phase, but that was just a small number. Initially, I thought everyone was exaggerating about smurfs. Then I faced a tough ESEA match against a strong opponent, who seemed to dominate with ease. I studied their playstyle and applied those lessons in future games. Of course, I still struggled initially, but I used the experience to grow. Now I avoid smurfing for the sake of hurting lower-ranked players or playing with friends of weaker levels. Instead, I keep it casual and focus on handling situations respectfully. I agree with what was shown in that video.
Now I notice you experimenting with WarOwl. That DMG to GE update is on... You seemed pleased when you hit LE.
