Hi,
I downloaded CS:GO about two days ago and have been observing high CPU usage.
My system specs are:
- Intel Core i5-6600
- 16 GB RAM
- Gigabyte GTX 1050 Windforce OC
- SanDisk SSD 240 GB
- WD Blue 1TB (game installation)

While playing, I reach temperatures of around 50°C on the CPU, which is cooled by a Masterliquid 120, and about 60°C on the GPU.
I checked the task manager and saw that CS:GO is using so much CPU with no other background processes consuming resources.
Setting the antivirus (Bitdefender) to game mode reduced FPS from 150 to around 200-250, but it's not very stable.
I'm unsure what to do...
Could it be a CPU issue? I also noticed the CPU hits 100% during file exports in Lightroom.

It's just doing what you'd anticipate it would do.

Because Counter-Strike: Global Offensive relies on the Valve Source engine, which is known for its high CPU demands.
It's typical for Source-based titles such as CSGO or Team Fortress 2 to require that much processing power.

What occurs when you run a 15-year-old engine game or something similar? It looks terrible and, as mentioned before, it doesn’t show much respect for the impressive GPU you own. Maintaining those high frame rates actually strains the CPU and other components.
