Cs2 fps drops
Cs2 fps drops
Hi everyone! I just upgraded my old 1070ti with a 7800xt tuf gaming card. It seems like the performance difference isn’t as noticeable as I expected when playing CS2. My old machine usually hit 200-220 FPS, while now it’s around 270-320 FPS. I remember experiencing some stuttering on my 1070ti, often dropping to about 110 FPS. With the new card, at 1280x1024 resolution, my FPS falls to 160-180. At 1920x1080, it drops even more to 40-60. I really prefer playing at 1920x1080. It seems higher resolutions depend a lot on your graphics card. I checked my GPU usage and CPU load – my GPU was using about 80% of its capacity while the CPU stayed around 40-55%. Is there a bottleneck here? Before installing the new card, I cleared all NVIDIA drivers in safe mode and tried an older AMD version, but nothing worked. My specs are: 5600X AMD CPU, 7800XT graphics, 16GB G.Skill 3600MHz, 700W cooler, X570e gaming motherboard. I’m hoping for some advice before making more changes. I considered switching to a 5800X3D, but want to confirm if that’s the issue. If you have any details missing, let me know. Nivali.
It depends on your choice and processor speed. For a 7800XT, the lowest acceptable resolution is 1080p. Lower resolutions put more strain on your CPU. Raising it to 1080p can improve FPS. CS2 uses more CPU power than GPU, so upgrading your CPU will help significantly, particularly if you prefer lower resolutions (though I don't suggest that).
I shared my gaming session stats for CS2. Here’s a summary: over two hours, I used about 50% CPU and 50% GPU. The frame rate was around 250-310 FPS, but dropped to an average of 177 FPS with occasional lows down to 9 FPS. These minor drops occurred at 1% of the time. Could your CPU be the reason for these fluctuations?
