CS2 / CSGO stutters
CS2 / CSGO stutters
Hi,
I just built a new PC with all the latest components.
CPU: Intel i5 13600k
AIO cooler: Gigabyte waterforce x240
Memory: Gigabyte Z790 Gaming X AX
GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4060
RAM: 32 GB DDR5 6000 MHz (Dual Channel)
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 1 TB M.2
Power supply: Gigabyte GP-UD850GM 850 W for future upgrades
Operating system: WIN11 home
BIOS: BIOS version F9 latest
Installed only CS2, Discord, Steam and drivers – everything is up to date.
Temperatures are normal during games.
Here’s a clip of the stutters I’ve noticed sometimes:

What I’ve tried so far: swapped motherboard, used a different CPU, changed RAM, SSD, router – nothing resolved the issue.
It seems hardware or internet connection isn’t the problem.
I reinstalled Windows, adjusted power plans, used various launch options for CS2, but it didn’t help.
Played Last of Us and Metro 2033 without stutters; only in CS2.
Maybe someone can assist and identify what might be wrong?
PSU: 850 W for future upgrades
This only reflects the advertised wattage of the device. Could you tell me the model and make of the unit?
BIOS is current.
What BIOS version are you using now?
Reinstall Windows
Where did you obtain the OS installer from?
I have installed only CS2, Discord, Steam and drivers—everything is up to date.
If you allow the OS to download and install all platform-specific drivers, I recommend using DDU, rebuilding all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia), then manually reinstalling with the newest driver from Nvidia's support site. Run it in an elevated command: right-click the installer > Run as Administrator.
I made a change to my initial message.
The source of the installer is a USB drive. I downloaded Windows from the official website and activated it as well.
The GPU driver was downloaded from NVIDIA's official support page.
Stuttering generally stems from a brief shortage of an essential component. Likely the CPU is involved. My assumption is that an application like Discord or Chrome believes it needs greater priority than your games. Because the problem appears only in CS2, it might be due to a specific game update. Check the CS2 forums to find out if any game settings are recommended.
