CS : GO - WTF?
CS : GO - WTF?
Playing CS:GO on average decent hardware with a stable connection usually works well. As before, I face fair challenges. Occasionally though, a player appears completely unseen until it’s too late to stop them. This happened during yesterday’s deathmatch game. The same player kept appearing in the same spot, always with a sniper rifle. When I tried to approach, I couldn’t see them until after they were shot. The screenshot confirmed their presence in the open area.
Is my setup really insufficient? Are they exploiting any kind of issue?
Identify the specific type of hardware to assist with better support. Also, note that this issue affects many individuals who are not skilled at playing.
I'm not a strong player, just like most things in life. I watched the spot and moved slowly, but got shot and the replay showed me exactly where it happened. It was the same with another player in DUST II. No matter the angle I tried, I got caught by a player that seemed invisible. Maybe I'm just not skilled enough, or perhaps my setup isn't refreshing quickly enough to notice the mistake. Should I lower the settings, like maxing everything out?
I'm unsure if you're asking about being unable to see the player before they're eliminated, or if your GPU delays rendering the character until the deathcam appears.
It could also relate to your ping—sometimes players peek ahead, and the timing of kills can seem random.

I discovered a newer video from the same YouTuber who covered your situation. In this clip, he explains the details of peeking mechanics, handling AWPers, and the different viewpoints involved. It's current enough to reflect the latest CS:GO updates.
I might be getting my back really hard. It's always helpful to understand how and why.
