I personally don't like playing CoD at all. I can see why some people like it but I mostly play skill based games. CoD does take skill too but the skill ceiling is really low compared to actual competitive games. CS:GO is something I don't seem to get bored off. I have had breaks from it unintentionally when playing games after the latest summer sale. it's just something that I can play for hundreds (maybe even thousands) of hours and still find exciting. there are always ways to improve and that's what I want to do in games; actually see how much better I have gotten. for example about half a year ago I never hit anything with the AWP. now on most days I can easily hit some of the more difficult shots too. I have never really gotten into CoD even tho I have tried a few of the games.

I enjoy both games. Mostly I play CSGO, but when I'm relaxed and don't have to win, I just unwind by playing some other games.

CoD is simple to master in just an hour of play. It doesn’t require much skill. CS:GO is a game with a steeper learning curve than my dic.... Mount Everest.
