Hey everyone. The gap between SSD and HDD sizes for CS is noticeable, but it depends on your needs. It might be worth upgrading to an SSD if speed matters. Otherwise, HDD could still work fine. Let me know!

The SSD improves startup speed and map loading by a few seconds, but it doesn’t significantly affect overall game performance.

Unless you have around 2GB of RAM, moving data to your HDD or SSD will cause significant performance issues.

When memory isn't enough to keep the game running, the CPU switches to using the hard drive or solid-state drive for data. This results in more noticeable drops in frame rate. The comparison between SSD and HDD becomes important for how much performance suffers during games.

I wonder why you’re using CS:GO with just 2GB of RAM on an operating system that readily consumes a quarter to a third for itself. If it reminds me of playing Half-Life 2 on a Windows tablet from years ago, maybe the issue isn’t so serious. And when I was experimenting with Black Mesa: Source, Task Manager used around half a gigabyte.
