CS GO FPS Decrease Issue with Ryzen 2300X
Hi everyone, I have a problem with my Ryzen 3 2300X. The problem is the constant FPS drops, friezes, micro-friezes, not a good response in the game.
When I bought and assembled the computer everything was fine, and everything was ok, but after that I updated the BIOS, updated the Windows drivers, these problems started.
When I shoot or play my movements are not the same as they were on my old processor from Intel, the response in the game itself got worse. Also, when many players on the server my FPS drops. It became uncomfortable to play, bad spray control, bad shooting, bad movement.

I tryed to use XMP profile doesn't help,
I tryed to use precision boost overdrive doesn't help
I tryed to overlock my cpu doesn't help
I tryed different timing and different speed of ram doesnt help
I turned off High Precision Event Timer in Windows 10 - it helps a lot, but still i have fps drops, but response in the game is better
I noticed that 14 timings and 3000 memory speed are the most optimal for me.
I don't know why but when I change command rate in DRAM Configuration from 1 to 2 game is more smooth.
Monitor your central processing unit and graphics card activity. Your extremely low display setting is placing a significant load on the processor. It’s likely that increasing your resolution, allowing your graphics card to be fully utilized, would reduce some problems. Even with a powerful four-core processor in games like Counter-Strike Global Offensive, similar difficulties can occur due to ongoing operating system processes. Furthermore, verify that your components are not overheating.
Greetings,
It appears a memory problem is the probable cause. Despite possessing decent processing speed, your 8GB of RAM operating in a single channel configuration may be significantly hindering performance—potentially by 10-25%. Utilizing dual-channel RAM (such as two 8GB sticks or a similar pairing) would likely improve things. Furthermore, many modern games require more than 8GB of RAM, often utilizing up to 9GB, and with additional browser tabs and system memory reservations, your actual available RAM for gaming could be reduced to 5-6GB. When RAM capacity is exhausted, your system will then rely on hard drive or solid state drive virtual memory, which can exacerbate problems.
You mentioned that your RAM with a CL of 14 is ideal for you. Could you please specify the exact model number of your RAM? Are you utilizing DRAM Calc to fine-tune timings, or are these the default settings? Additionally, are you adjusting any component speeds for overclocking? If so, unstable overclocks could be contributing to these issues. We recommend testing your system at its original factory settings and observing whether the problems persist.
Hello, I’m utilizing Memoty Try It – a component integrated into my computer's motherboard. My system memory consists of an 8GB G SKILL Aegis with a speed of 3000MHz. I’m exclusively playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and at default configurations, I experience a significant reduction in frame rate.
Absolutely, I strongly suggest adding another 8 gigabytes of memory. Furthermore, if you haven’t already, it would be beneficial to install your games and operating system onto a solid-state drive.
Hey man, I tried using a two-channel setup and the outcome improved, although freezing issues remain. Plus, I have an SSD, so you should review what I’ve mentioned earlier.
Allow your motherboard to automatically configure memory speeds and timings using its “auto/xmp” settings. If you experiment with a profile designed for different RAM, be aware that this may lead to instability. Instead, running your memory at its default settings can assist in identifying whether the RAM itself is causing problems.
You mentioned you’ve conducted tests with dual-channel memory. Could you describe your testing method? Specifically, what RAM modules did you use – were they identical, or did you employ different ones?
I attempted using the standard settings, I also experimented with an XMP profile, and yes, I even used the identical RAM from a friend—we both purchased the same module. There was no alteration in performance. All of my drivers are up-to-date. Additionally, my computer is now booting twice, and I’m unsure why. (My operating system is LTSC).
Combining memory modules from different sources could lead to difficulties. It's advisable to purchase a matched 2x4/8 kit. You may attempt to assess your memory performance outside of the operating system using Memtest86+. Execute it for four cycles. If no errors are detected, the problem could stem from another component.
