They're facing some challenges, which might explain why they're giving Warface away for free on Steem. It seems connected to the crisis they're dealing with. Right now, Crytek is in a tough spot, and many people dislike the end of Crysis.

Crytek has experienced significant setbacks and had to let go of many employees, though I believe they aren't facing a serious threat of bankruptcy. Regarding warface, it seems to be just another free-to-play game with no connection to anything else.

Since Crytek developed it, they might have set a price, making it more affordable. People shouldn’t have had to pay when they were struggling financially. It’s quite absurd.
