I'm feeling really frustrated right now. I just purchased the IbuyPower Snowblind S case for my build, and I needed to move my setup to the new case. It was straightforward. I checked everything before connecting and trying to power the LCD panel—everything is functioning properly, no problems. I found suitable cables: a 6-pin to two Molex connectors, and a small female Molex cable. I connected the 6-pin to the Molex on my PSU, then linked that to the female cable, and finally to the Molex connector on the case. Initially, I connected both splitters from the 6-pin to two female connectors, but my system wouldn't power on. After removing one splitter, it worked, but I noticed the 3070ti wouldn't display at all. I also had a GTX980 running, so I switched it to the display cable and it worked. Then I plugged the LCD HDMI into my GPU, and within 30 seconds it started struggling—then it caught fire. I gave up on getting the side panel to work and focused on fixing my GPU. I tried reseating it in different slots, used a different PSU cable, and reinstalled the drivers. During a support chat with NVIDIA, the GTX980 ended up in the same state as the 3070ti. It’s no longer recognized by my motherboard; the PCIe slots show empty in BIOS, but it still powers on. I haven’t tested these cards on other PCs yet, but I’m currently using the system described. The video card is a spare, similar to an office workstation Quadro I own. It works fine and required drivers, but I’m still having trouble getting the 3070ti or GTX980 recognized. Most worried about the 3070ti, but I need to figure out what’s going on.

We need the computer specifications to form an informed opinion. Also, let me know what this is intended for.

Model specifications: MSI x570 edge gaming with Wi-Fi GPU1 RTX 3070ti, GPU2 GTX980, CPU Ryzen 7 5600x, GSKill Ripjaw x2 with 16GB modules. Current setup has only one M.2 drive connected. The system started up and functioned properly after reassembly, but issues arose when power was applied to the LCD side panel without connecting the Molex cable.

We need to confirm its purpose. If it’s a gaming or creative device we’ll start from there. (You’re probably going to sell the 980, though I’m actually looking for one. A 980Ti would be better, but a 980 will do. It’s about the monitor part on an old system. The 9xx line was the last to support real analog video.) If it’s another type like a scientific tool or miner, we try to adapt it with both cards installed.

It's a versatile device, but I'm not here to talk about its purpose. It needs to function properly. Of course, if you're interested in the 980 model, we can discuss offers there. I'm involved in gaming, music production, recording, design, coding, and more here. Shall we concentrate on the matter at hand?
