Critical issue detected with Ryzen 5700X3D: cache hierarchy malfunction.
Recently my computer would shut down unexpectedly, often when it was in a stable state. I didn’t notice problems while playing games or using other apps. Usually, the desktop restarts by itself overnight. In the Windows Event Viewer I see a fatal hardware error. It says a processor core error occurred. The component details show: Ryzen 5700X3D, X570s, 64GB RAM, and some graphics cards. I’ve checked power settings and other adjustments but haven’t found a solution. Anyone have ideas?
It might be a bad RAM module or a failing motherboard. Have you performed a memory test?
I fully reinstalled the operating system and all applications after installing the new CPU. I maintain all updates, including Ryzen Master/CHIPSET and BIOS.
The RAM is brand new and I received it for Christmas. I'm planning to test it. Yes, I'm reducing the voltage in the BIOS to -30.
The system has been operating smoothly for several months. The problem only appeared recently. Initially, I assumed the power supply unit was the cause—I had a 650W unit and was pushing it near its maximum capacity. Recently, I replaced it with a 1000W model, but the issue persists.
The undervolt no longer remains stable when it used to be. The core lacked sufficient power for the target frequency and experienced a drop. Lower the failing core by 10 units (core #5 if APIC ID is 9, meaning thread number). Perform the same adjustment on the other two top cores as a precaution.
I adjusted the MSI Kombo Strike configuration to 1, which corresponds to -10. I’m confident this should resolve the problem.
