I was really excited and spent about 1200 DLLs setting up my gaming setup! To play BF4 like back (I used to play BF2) but now I just get headaches. It only runs for a minute before crashing with a DirectX error. A lot of forums have people complaining about this with no fix, making me doubt if I can even play it. I’ve reinstalled the OS, updated and reinstalled drivers from various GPU manufacturers, including AMD, and even tried underclocking the GPU and running it in windowed mode. So far, I haven’t managed to get the .cfg file specs working. My PC specs are: a Gigabyte R9 280X graphics card, 8GB RAM, a 3.90 GHz AMD A8-6600K processor, an 1TB WD HDD, a Cooler Master ELITE case, and a 650W PSU. I really need help because I’m very frustrated.

It should contain a folder named DirectX within the BF4 directory, then launch the installer there.

You invested $1200 in this setup?

Y has already reinstalled DirectX, but the issue persists! Thanks for letting me know. I didn’t include any details about the monitor or speakers.

It's possible your AMD GPU might be faulty.

Remove DirectX completely from your system and then reinstall it. Also, remember that when you launch a game for the first time on a new PC, it may prompt you to install a .NET Framework file—have you done so before?

It's confusing. You're asking about using a specific AMD GPU with BF4 and wondering if Mantle is a better option.

I turned it on in the game menu but it keeps crashing. I installed the Net Framework but it was turned off! It’s doing updates now… I hope that fixes it. Thanks to everyone who helped. I’m from Mexico and don’t know anyone else using a PC for BF4.

Once DirectX and the .NET Framework were reinstalled, the game continued to freeze, though the DirectX device error no longer displayed. Any suggestions?
