Creating new drives results in an unchangeable Microsoft corruption mark.
Hi everyone, I observed that in Windows 11 Home 23H2, formatting drives now adds three folders to the root directory: Program Files, WindowsApps, and XboxGames. My questions are: #1 What is the reason for this change? #2 How can I prevent Windows from adding these folders during formatting? When I try to delete them, Windows blocks me and keeps Program Files and WindowsApps intact. Only XboxGames can be removed. I want the drive to be completely empty after formatting, but I don’t understand why Microsoft is altering system behavior this way.
It's quite frustrating when you encounter these unnecessary folders on Windows 10. You can easily move them to a hidden location, but it's unclear if this method will function on Windows 11.
