I've noticed these bothersome black squares appearing on my screen while gaming for some time now... they show up randomly anywhere on the display, regardless of the game. I searched online but found no one with the same problem. It seems unlikely this is due to artifacts or GPU issues since temperatures stay below 45°C and my GPU is fully functional after contacting NVIDIA support. They confirmed my GPU-Z data, clock speeds, and VRAM are normal. My setup includes an old LCD monitor with a VGA port, which I switched to a DisplayPort to VGA adapter, but the issue persists. I'm unsure how to fix this or what might be causing it. Please suggest possible solutions and potential causes.

It occurs in several games or is limited to a single one?

The situation is unusual because I haven’t come across any discussions among others facing the same problem on forums. This rarely happens, even when I’m not playing at all.

Video card performance is declining (VRAM) or power supply issues are affecting the PSU with 12V output. This suggests a problem related to the graphics card or its power delivery. You can try installing the card in another system to see if the issue persists. This might help identify whether the problem lies with the power supply or the card itself.

the situation looks manageable with the current setup. the psu is a corsair 450w i've used for a while and hasn't caused any issues before. my gpu (gtx1650) doesn't require an external power connector, so it gets power straight from the motherboard. though the board is old, it might not be delivering enough power now. swapping it out could help, but what do you think?

Have you checked the GPU on a different machine? I’m certain there’s nothing wrong because I wanted you to verify it.

I didn’t find an alternative setup, so I reached out to Nvidia to verify my card. They confirmed it’s working based on GPU-Z data. But if the issue persists across another machine, I’ll have to visit a repair shop, install the GPU, set up drivers, and add games manually. I’m still unsure whether they’d approve installing a game just for troubleshooting.
