Hello, Many clients have asked if we can coat their access points with black paint. Hiding the connections and LEDs is clear, but would this impact coverage or performance?

This could offer useful details—though it’s important to note we’re delivering a networking solution, not handling painting. If they choose to add paint, it would be their call, and we can adjust accordingly.

These are likely access point models. As mentioned in the article, you might obtain replacements directly from the manufacturer—such as Unifi’s covers for their U6 APs—which will ensure compatibility and avoid troublesome problems.

A layer of paint won't significantly impact WiFi signals unless you apply that black graphite paint Elijah used for his condo. You might also cancel the manufacturer's warranty by painting the access points. The decision rests with the customer—assess the benefits and document it if needed. Another solution is installing the APs above a drop ceiling, which is feasible if one exists on the site.

@Jimmy87 Alternatively, consider using a vinyl sticker—it's simple to remove if needed. Ubiquiti offers them for ceiling-mountable APs, and automotive vinyl could work too. Black is typical, but you can pick from textures like gloss or matte.
