I've been attempting to install beef in a virtual machine (running Kali) but when I share a link for someone to join, it displays this message (see photo). I'm unsure how to fix it and it works if I hook a browser inside the VM. I know this might not be the best place to ask, but if you have another forum that's more suitable, please let me know. Thanks in advance, Tom.

Beef refers to beef. The IP address 127.0.0.1 points to the local machine and works only inside the virtual environment. Use the VM's actual IP when accessing it from outside.

127.0.0.1 refers to localhost. It looks like you have a lot to study before diving into hacking. Just remember, be careful with what you do online.

Beef is a penetration testing tool centered around web browsers. It's designed to help test security vulnerabilities in browsers.

127.0.0.1 is the IP address for your localhost, pointing to your own computer. If you're accessing it from elsewhere, you'd need to reach that remote machine's address. If it isn't on your local network, you'd have to set up port forwarding on its router. No worries about my grasp of networking—I’d recommend diving into something simpler than XSS exploitation next.
