Creating a personal computer setup from scratch
No one can suggest better options for building your own desktop PC. I look for vendors offering both competitive prices and the ability to select older motherboards or custom components that aren’t always the latest models. There are several good choices available.
It really depends on the cost. Most system integrators don't have older equipment. If you're planning to build an older PC without doing it yourself, your best option is to locate a nearby PC shop that's open to assembling components you bring in, which usually means you'll need to do some research if you're unfamiliar with them.
If you have a microcenter nearby that’s the best place to look. Most stores won’t do that for older parts. Microcenter carries last-generation am4 components and could probably offer a good price on those types of items, even if they’re still new. I believe they’ll assemble them for about $150.
If you’re after something older or think you can save with older hardware, consider checking eBay or local computer shops. Some of these places might sell used systems and help you upgrade them.
If you're open to purchasing from various suppliers and receiving items in phases, use PartPicker.
It enables you to construct your system using available components; filters and sorts will alert you to any mismatches, and it also provides power requirements.
When assembling your setup on the platform, it automatically selects the most favorable price from multiple sources and offers a "buy" option that directs you straight to the relevant shopping cart.
