Hey everyone! I'm working on assembling a new all-in-one PC and running into some challenges finding the right components. The main hurdle is locating a Thunderbolt 3 motherboard for an AMD build. For my audio work, I mostly record directly and rely heavily on plugins—lots of guitars, basses, keyboards, drums, etc.—all sent through USB 3 ports. But at some point, noticeable latency started appearing, which is why I’m considering the Focusrite Clarett 8Pre Thunderbolt Interface.

I also think my 4770k CPU might be getting a bit outdated. I’ve already picked out an ASRock X570 Phantom (ITX/TB3) and am planning to install a Ryzen 3700X with an OLOy WarHawk RGB 32GB (two 16GB sticks) 288-pin power supply, SSD, HDD, and a GTX 1070 from my previous build. I’m going for an ITX design so the PC stays portable, especially since I’ll often record on the go—whether at a studio, client’s place, or wherever. I plan to switch to SSDs and possibly NVMe M.2 drives.

I’m also aiming for a stylish build and am leaning toward either RGB or all-white aesthetics. I want something that looks good but stays light enough for easy transport.

Have you explored real-time monitoring? Do you actually want to hear your plugins? Are you experiencing lag during live recordings on-site, or does it happen during mastering and playback?
