I've been away from PC building for a while, but I'm planning to assemble a new system. I'm unsure which parts (CPU, graphics, etc.) are necessary these days. I tend to prefer the latest options to ensure longevity, but I'm also on a budget—around $2k maximum.

I mainly plan to use it for everyday tasks, video editing, 3D modeling (especially for 3D printing), and some gaming. Since I'll be sitting at a desk all day, playing on my Xbox on the sofa afterward is more comfortable. I want it to handle new software smoothly with good frame rates.

I currently have a 1440p ultrawide monitor, but I hope to upgrade to 4K eventually. I've always used Intel but might be okay with AMD as well, since they seem similar for my needs. I usually go for smaller ITX builds if that's important to me.

Any advice on what components to focus on?

Not sure which parts (like CPU, graphics, etc.) to focus on these days. I tend to prefer getting as new as possible so it lasts longer, but I'm also trying to stay within a budget of around $2k.
What should I be checking for?
Please add any tips or advice you have in this thread.

I completed constructing a fresh setup for a friend recently, intended for video editing and running MS Flight Simulator. He worked with a significantly tighter budget than yours, and the overall expense came to around US$1500. This included a 27-inch QHD display, wireless keyboard and mouse. Without those three components, the cost would be about US$1300. These figures are in India and converted to US dollars. You might achieve better results with a larger budget of $2000. Here’s my friend’s configuration as a reference:

This ITX build fits within an mATX case. The Intel 265k delivers performance comparable to a 9900X in gaming and tasks, but at a much lower cost. The case quality is solid, offering good space efficiency with its 25.5L capacity.
