Hello, I've been searching online for a while now about creating a new partition in Linux. Everyone mentions fdisk, but when I try to launch it, it shows an error saying the device can't be opened. I'm using Elementary OS on a Debian-based system. Can someone help or walk me through this?

Use GParted with the specified package managers. For Debian/Ubuntu, run apt-get install gparted. For Arch, use sudo pacman -S gparted. On RHEL, Cent, or Fedora, install via dnf.

You're attempting to install Debian using the provided link. The command will download the package for gparted version 0.19.0.

It comes pre-installed on Ubuntu systems. Use sudo Gparted to launch it.

Your terminal is pulling from Ubuntu repos because it's configured to use those sources for package management.
