Hi everyone, I'm dealing with a persistent issue that's been bothering me. My main monitor runs at 4K resolution, but certain games or old applications load them in lower resolutions. This forces the file explorer windows to expand dramatically, making them huge and distorting their usual size. Normally, my workspace fits six windows comfortably, but they stretch to full screen. I'm looking for a solution—either a program or a setting—that would lock the window size permanently so that when I switch back to 4K, everything resizes correctly.

Consider DisplayFusion for its Window Position Profile feature. This allows you to reset positions and sizes using a hotkey.

I'm looking into that application. Do you know if Windows has any native tool or an alternative to Explorer that can achieve similar results without a display management program?

Microsoft created a configurable system, though with limited options. For unique features, look for third-party tools.
