It’s better to go desktop for the cost. £300 is quite tight but could work. Purchase a R5 7600 from CEX for £130, a B650 board around £100 and 16GB RAM for about £70. You might also want an SSD, though that would raise the total. A new CPU cooler would be wise too, but at that stage buying the 7600 new from Amazon—already includes a cooler box—might be more sensible. You could also look for open-box deals on Scan.co.uk or check overclockersuk for discounts.
