I recently purchased a used case on eBay for $12, either as an extra or for my upcoming project. It doesn’t have to be cheap, and reusing it helps avoid waste or ending up in a landfill.

It depends on your needs; it's not ideal for building an ITX system or a high airflow setup if the $12 case is an OptiPlex shell.
