Hello,
I purchased a fresh graphics card for my outdated system since the NVIDIA GT 610 chip is no longer compatible with Windows and Linux. The new card I bought here features an NVIDIA GT 1030 chip, which remains supported. However, my old computer refuses to recognize it—during startup it emits a single long beep followed by two short ones, indicating a graphics card issue, and the connected monitor shows no response. The motherboard model is MS-7204 (MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL), the BIOS comes from Phoenix Technologies, dated 09/26/2005. Could there be a way to adjust compatibility?

I'm using Linux (Kubuntu 24.10) and Windows 10 Home 32 bit. The issue is that with the new graphics card, the system doesn't boot into either OS at all - only the BIOS beeps.

Here are some reflections on your concerns.
Your goal of using a 32 bit OS with the GT 1030 is understandable, but compatibility issues remain.
Although the Nvidia GT 1030 claims support for 32 bit operating systems, the official Maxsun.com page only references a 64 bit driver.
You should confirm the type of CPU your MSI 775 motherboard uses—whether it's a 32 bit or 64 bit processor.
I wonder if the GT 1030 could function properly on a 32 bit system, yet during startup it might encounter compatibility problems due to mismatched signals between the GPU and the motherboard BIOS.
If a 32 bit processor is present, it would likely emit a beep and fail to boot, as the card would expect 64 bit functionality.
Although I haven’t tested a Nvidia 1000 Pascal series GPU with only UEFI video BIOS, it would likely prevent the system from starting.
Personally, I’ve found the Nvidia 900 series cards to be reliable on older motherboards, even without official driver support. They still operate with the latest Nvidia drivers available.
