I believe having a solid backup is essential, so you can recover if needed. Tools like Veeam make this process straightforward.

Previously I relied on Clonezilla. It’s a streamlined Linux installation media that handles the dd command automatically. Straightforward and convenient. Worth checking out.

Macrium Reflect. Clone offline system using a bootable rescue USB or another machine. You can also clone a functional OS, but it depends on VSS which I’m not confident about. The only time my clone failed was when I tried to clone the working OS. Others do it smoothly, so perhaps that was just bad luck for me.
