I've been wanting to improve my storage setup for a while. Recently I purchased a Toshia 3TB drive, excited about it (though cloning data might take some time). I've been considering the Samsung 850 Evo 250GB since it's affordable, and the Samsung SSDs are known for their durability. Yet, several tales on /r/pcmasterrace warn that moving Windows 10 to another drive can cause the OS to reset. I've successfully cloned an OS from a previous SSD to my current one without issues, but I was running Windows 8.1 then. Anyone has experience cloning a drive with Windows 10 installed?

According to available information, the MSX system doesn't use SATA technology. It's quite outdated for modern needs. Even with the Turbo R, the processor runs at 7.16MHz, which is quite slow. If you're considering adding an SSD through a mod chip, the main limitation would still be the CPU speed. Additionally, it seems the system likely can't accommodate large storage capacities.

Hehe, I was just joking about why nobody answered your message. To clarify your point: the Windows 10 "problem" is probably not your main worry. The issue with copying drives lies in the lack of error detection. Mistakes can occur. Generally, solid cloning tools include some basic fixes, but the real challenge arises when you copy from two different HDD brands/models or swap an HDD for an SSD (or vice versa) because of the significant tech differences. I’d strongly suggest a clean install, even though it’s tough—you’ll be safe from complications.

Fair enough. I'll attempt to clone it, and if that doesn't work, I'll do a clean install. Appreciate the assistance.
