Hey there! After my PC build in February, I decided to try playing HZD to experience the performance it promises. The game is available on Steam and works smoothly in My SteamDeck. On my Windows PC, though, it gets stuck at the loading screen—black with a small circle that shifts and then freezes halfway through. It also hangs completely. I’ve tried several fixes: verified files from Steam, reinstalls, driver updates, running as admin, updating Visual C++, and even disabling SteamCloud and overlays. The devs haven’t responded to my support request. My setup includes an AMD Ryzen 7 7700 with PBO, 32GB DDR5 at 6000MHz, a Radeon 7900XTX MoBo, and Asus Prime B650 Plus. Thanks for any help!

Consider using a single stick of RAM (with two 16GB sticks available)
Perform a clean Windows installation instead of a repair—this usually eliminates software problems
Check if your BIOS is current
Turn off any overclocking settings you applied
I’m not sure about other games, but did you try another title using the Decima Engine?
If you have PC GamePass, see if Death Stranding launches as it also uses Decima
It should run smoothly on your 7900XTX at 4K with all settings maximized
Playing Horizon Forbidden West is a great choice—truly impressive!

Thanks for the update, @ChrisLoudon. The reinstallation of Windows was successful. I understand it's not ideal, but I appreciate the effort. Thanks again!

Great vibe, and savoring the benefits is perfect. HZD is amazing—just wait about six months before jumping into HFW. It might feel tempting right away, but I’d suggest holding off a bit longer.
