Crashes after gaming
Hello,
I’m noticing that during intense gaming sessions my PC suddenly powers off after roughly half an hour. I’ve also seen Nvidia OpenGL logs and DrvSetContext failed with an indeterminate error. At first, I suspected these logs were linked to the shutdowns, but after cleaning up my GPU and CPU via DDU, those logs stopped appearing. I’ve continued working on the 'Nvlddmkm' problem, as many users face similar issues. Despite various fixes—changing PCIe gen, adjusting system folder permissions, disabling DOCP overclocking, swapping RAM, reseating the GPU, updating CMOS, uninstalling DDU, running a memory test—I still haven’t resolved it.
What’s unusual is that my system only shuts down during demanding games, not under stress tests. Additionally, I’m seeing VSS logs in Event Viewer: “Volume Shadow Copy Service information: The COM Server with CLSID {4e14fba2-2e22-11d1-9964-00c04fbbb345} and name CEventSystem cannot be started. [0x8007045b, A system shutdown is in progress.]” These logs don’t align with the shutdown times I experience.
I’m concerned this might indicate a hardware problem, as I’ve tried everything possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Stop using the internet.
Remove all GPU drivers via DDU (clean your system and don’t restart).
Uninstall every processor—this is essential. Make sure you have 16 processors on your device, and when prompted to restart, select no and continue uninstalling all processors.
Open Device Manager, uninstall AMD Chipset Software from the Control Panel (if none exists, skip this step).
Restart the PC to BIOS mode, turn off AMD FTPM and secure boot, save changes and exit, then return to BIOS. Flash the latest BIOS if needed.
After updating, go back to BIOS and set default or optimized settings, disable CSM (or legacy compatibility), save and exit.
Restart again and proceed through BIOS steps as described.
Load the necessary files before proceeding to step 1.
Execute CMD with admin privileges, then run chkdsk /x /f /r.
Following that, run sfc /scannow.
Verify your PSU has 12VHPWR and ensure the correct PCIE cable is connected for your setup (use main cable, not branches/splits).
Hello, thank you for your reply. I plan to test this out tomorrow and check if it resolves any issues. Appreciate the thorough explanation and will keep you informed.
Hello once more.
I've tried your solution and seen encouraging outcomes so far.
To verify if these adjustments have been effective, I've been running a specific flight in a simulator named MSFS2020. Normally, my system would stop about an hour into the simulation, showing that the changes haven't fixed the issue. This is why I've had to undo every adjustment I made. Occasionally, after completing a full flight, my computer would shut down again. But with your fix, I was able to finish the entire session without interruption. This is promising, but I'll need to conduct more tests tomorrow to confirm the results. If the solution fails, I expect my PC to stop automatically during testing. Thank you for your support so far, and I'll keep you informed.
Attempted a gaming session as usual and the computer stopped working. I've tried fixing it with the builders but have used all their methods, so they're now suggesting an RMA. It seems like the best choice right now unless I manage to solve the issue further? Appreciate your help so far.
