I upgraded from a 5600 to a 5700X3D and added it to my Asrock X370 motherboard, but the system isn’t functioning well. After fresh installation of Windows, I got stuck in a bootloop. Once it worked again, it was partially usable, though games would crash after about 30 to 40 minutes. Here are my details: 5700X3D Asrock X370 Killer SLI/acX370 Killer SLI/ac 4 x 8GB 3600 MHz DDR4 XPG Zotac 3080ti AMP HOLO Corsair CX750M. Three NVMe drives were installed (not sure if that helps). I’ve tried several approaches: fresh installs with drivers set to -20 on all cores using PBO2, adjusting RAM frequency (tested at 2666, 3200, and 3600), and dealing with various BSODs—some indicated RAM issues, others graphics driver crashes, and a few kernel errors.

Are you using BIOS settings for support? The 5700X3D came out after the 5600. Did you reset the CMOS? Have you experimented with a small positive adjustment? On older boards, CPUs might default to undervolting the CPU. The newer CPU could be demanding more power, so consider power limiting or underclocking as well. How are you handling this—manually or using XMP/DOCP? Are crashes consistent across games? If they only occur after 30 minutes, it might relate to overheating.

It's working just fine after the recent updates. The BIOS was updated some time ago and the system ran smoothly for years. 3) I haven't tested it yet, but I'm planning to try it. 4) I'll attempt it as well since it's performing well under full load. 5) Yes, XMP settings helped a bit, though the improvement wasn't significant. It might be a placebo. Edit: Adjusting PBO to +10 or even 0 prevents the CPU from going over 3.9GHz—uncertain if that's beneficial or not. At -20°C it still ran well, but I'm keeping it at 0 for now and will monitor. Also applied a -10% power cap to the GPU.

What BIOS version is active? What type of CPU cooler are you using?

Version 7.30 follows with beta updates, though I'm unsure if it's the best approach. The cooler is the DeepCool LT520, maintaining stable temperatures around 75°C during high load.

It's understandable you're facing problems, but your system is running on a very old BIOS version. Update to the newest one. The "Beta" label simply indicates Asrock hasn't fully tested it internally—it remains an official AMD AGESA release.
