Hi everyone, I've been dealing with my PC lately due to a problem that triggers random restarts while playing F1 2021. This has started after upgrading to the 3080 graphics card, and I'm still unsure what's going on. While reviewing Event Viewer, I saw an Event 46 when it crashed, indicating a fatal hardware error. The details showed a memory issue. Another observation was that upon crashing, most of the screen faded except for faint outlines of objects in the game. It doesn't show a standard BSOD—it just freezes briefly before restarting on its own. My system specs are: Ryzen 5 5600X, G.Skill TridentZ RGB, 16GB RAM, 3600 MHz, MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus, MSI Ventus 3X, RTX 3080, Corsair RM750x, running Windows 11. I've tried several fixes: reinstalling GPU drivers, updating Windows, updating AMD chipset drivers, updating BIOS, reverting to an older BIOS version, disabling XMP, reseating RAM, swapping RAM slots, adjusting graphics settings, forcing DX11.1, boosting voltages, using a different power supply, and enabling fast boot. I've attached some minidump files; there are five distinct dumps throughout the day. I'm open to other suggestions—feel free to share any ideas. Minidump.zip

Are you checking if the 2x 8-pin connectors use the 6+2 layout on a single cable, or would you like to test with two separate cables?

I was also using the identical cable with both connections! I've connected two devices and will run a test soon.

If it doesn’t work, it’s probably because your PSU isn’t strong enough for the power surges during gameplay.

Experimented with results, but overall it didn’t work. I noticed undervolting could be useful, though if the issue lies with the power source itself, what next steps should I consider?

With a 3080 I’d aim for at least 850W, but 1000W is better to be safe.

I've been tracking power consumption during an F1 test and am worried about the 850w purchase. It can run for 20-30 minutes without freezing, but if it were power-related, I'd expect the system to restart immediately instead of lingering in a dark state for a few seconds before cycling again. Right now, money feels tough—I saved up some earnings to buy this card and wasn’t planning to spend more. Are you certain a new PSU would solve the problem? If so, I’ll go ahead and buy one. But I just need full certainty it will fix the issue.

I also ran the Time Spy Extreme stress test using a 20-step loop, and it performed without any issues—everything is working smoothly.

Certainly sure... however, only when under load. It’s probably the case. To be certain, you’d need to borrow one and try it out. Do any of your friends own one? Just keep in mind to use only power cables that come with the PSU.

Unfortunately, there aren't many options available. The only spare power supplies I have are 450 and 550 watts. I'm expecting an RM1000x delivery tomorrow just in case, and I'll provide an update afterward.
