Crash and Shutdown setup for FX8350 and RTX 2070
Crash and Shutdown setup for FX8350 and RTX 2070
I built a budget PC using the RTX2070 from an eGPU project. It runs with Asus Crosshair Formula-V-z Mobo 16Gb Corsair Vegence 2400 RAM, stock cooler, and some airflow fans. The system starts lagging right away, but no overclocking is happening. I’m hearing the machine shut down abruptly without any warning. I think the cooling might be adequate, but I’m worried about power delivery to the GPU—maybe it needs more than 700W or the CPU isn’t functioning properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
It is a Builder 700w model: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/700w-xcl...an-atx-psu Link
It seems there’s no information available about the PSU. Based on how it shut down, it likely relates to the power supply unit, possibly due to insufficient power rather than low wattage. Without more details, it’s hard to determine its age.
Regardless of the actual issue, you should return it. Get a budget-friendly power supply: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/FdRF...9020121-na and https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/dDH4...9020133-na. The low quality might be the problem. Edit: regarding other reasons. I don’t know.
Sorry, the crossed messages were a mistake. Do you think it's the PSU? It seems fine to switch to another one, but I'd like to know your estimated wattage. If you think it relates to the GPU, would it be worth downgrading it for better performance? For a build aiming at 1080p on high or ultra resolution, do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
