Hello, Your CPU (Intel Core i7 8700) has been getting higher temperatures recently, reaching 80 °C to 90 °C during operation. When idle it stays around 66 °C to 70 °C. You’ve tried cleaning the case, applying new thermal paste, adjusting airflow, but nothing helped much. Then you changed the Process Power settings, capping the maximum processor state at 95%, and suddenly the temperature dropped to 40-45 °C under load. Even though performance didn’t noticeably change, running emulators, a browser, and games together still felt smoother. You’re wondering why this happened and what the ideal maximum processor state is. For reference, I’ve previously overclocked my CPU years ago.
