CPU VRM Mosfet identification
CPU VRM Mosfet identification
I aim to build a custom MOSFET heatsink for my F2A68HM-S1 motherboard. I'm struggling to figure out which MOSFETs need cooling since the yellow ones feel cooler than the red ones, which are too hot to handle during full load. I've already made the heatsink for the red ones, and I've noticed that high-end boards often include cooling for MOSFETs above the CPU. Should I cool them even if they don't seem to get hot?
With this thermal adhesive, you wouldn't require additional fasteners.
The red ones are definitely for the CPU. How do you intend to secure it?
CountMike shared his approach. The red ones are intended for the CPU. His plan involves securing the riser with adhesive thermal tape and screws, using nuts to fasten it. He will also use hard wire to connect between the fins of the larger heatsink and the CPU bracket.
