CPU utilization at 100%
CPU utilization at 100%
Hey there, here’s what I have so far: I have an Intel Core i7-6700K at 4.4GHz, an MSI 1070 Ti with two 8GB Corsair H100i M.2 SSDs, a Samsung 950 Pro M.2 256GB drive, and a Toshiba 3TB HDD. I’m using an Asus MG248 graphics card at 144Hz. The system runs Samsung’s AIO 950 Pro and I’m experiencing significant lag in games like BFV, Overwatch, World of Warcraft, and Modern Warfare. On medium settings, I usually see around 80 frames per second, but there’s a noticeable drop in performance, especially when aiming. Even adjusting the settings doesn’t help much. My CPU stays near full load while the GPU usage is low, which makes me think the bottleneck might be elsewhere. I’ve also had random crashes in Modern Warfare due to memory issues. I’m not sure if my 6700K is actually limiting things or if there’s another factor at play. I’m considering a CPU and motherboard upgrade but need advice before spending more money. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks, Elias.
Check if any processes are consuming resources and see how your system performs when not in use.
Usually the usage should stay between 5-7%. Look for the reason behind the high CPU consumption when the system is idle.
The software protection from Microsoft accounts approximately 18%. It restarts only when I finish the task.
Check this out and try it out. The article discusses how a protection platform service might increase CPU usage.
Fixing the windows should likely resolve all your issues simultaneously. CPU load, memory mistakes, and similar problems may be addressed.
Suggest using Windows Home. It looks like it's available for free now.
