On eBay, unless you're focused on productivity, you're probably making a lot of changes.

Be mindful that upgrading from an i5 to an i7 BIOS requires compatibility. It may also increase heat production, so check your cooling system is adequate. Consider using high-quality thermal paste—liquid metal could be ideal. Think about whether the extra power usage can be managed by your VRM and if your motherboard’s power supply can handle it.

No problem! Let me try to clarify. What part didn't make sense to you?

It isn't entirely accurate since current games often use more than two cores, yet you won't improve single-core speed because the clock speeds remain identical. You might want to contact support to find out which CPUs are supported by your BIOS, or check if a different laptop model shares the same CPU. What device do you own?

You're wondering how to use this laptop. Since it doesn't have a dedicated GPU, its gaming experience will likely be poor regardless of the processor. For everyday tasks, the i5 should work just fine.

Invest in memory upgrades and an SSD. The CPU won't make much difference. Performance with older mobile graphics (2011-2012) remains limited. Additional cores offer little benefit, particularly with Intel 4000 series cards. This isn't a good choice versus improving other parts.
