CPU triggering error A1, B1 RAM slots failing to recognize memory
acquired a used LGA CPU that, when placed on a motherboard, leads to one RAM slot failing to recognize the memory. despite using identical CPUs and fully occupying all slots, the issue persists. investigate possible causes such as incorrect BIOS settings, faulty RAM modules, or hardware incompatibility.
Need additional details? A picture of the CPU on the contact side would be helpful.
Reviewed every contact—everyone looks great and polished, nothing is missing, especially no SMD parts, and there are only minor dents at the two corners.
Determine if the device uses PGA pins inside the CPU or LGA pins in the socket.
I faced a similar problem too; the RAM voltage wasn’t correct, so I enabled an XMP profile. Only after booting into BIOS and setting it to stock did everything function properly without unexpected voltages. If this helps, I’m not entirely sure. But I recommend checking the RAM specs first—maybe the numbers are off. For me, a slot with |1|1|1|0| worked perfectly, then I set up XMP and it all came together nicely. After that, all four slots were functional. Just reset the BIOS to confirm everything is stable.
