Did you verify the speeds? Could be the fan not working? I saw this with an HP earlier.

Absolutely confirmed. The issue isn't related to temperature. I also adjusted the power settings for cooling on the battery to Active mode.

Bios is current, but the Asus software isn’t available. It seems the download link for this version isn’t present on the official site.

It turned out to be a hardware problem, so I had to swap out the laptop. The new one works fine now.
