CPU temperature looks elevated—verify fan operation and consider reapplying thermal paste if available. Also, gently clear any dust particles.

Certainly too warm. Consider improving the thermal setup. Note that Tctl sets the control temperature while TSI reflects the real package temperature.

It's a remote probe, but its operation relies on software, which raises concerns about precision.

I attempted to reapply thermal paste again, and I'm using mx-4. Thanks for the guidance. Is the TSI measurement insufficient? This is the current idle temperature.

Is this a suitable temperature for the test? Should I consider adjusting the CPU cooler?

The significant gap between core and package temperatures makes me question accuracy. The core produces heat, but it can build up in the motherboard socket where a sensor is located. Most AMD chips follow an algorithm—core temps around 10°C higher than package temps until about 40–45°C. Ideally, you should see a maximum of 100–110°C before the board shuts down. Pay attention to the heat sink; if it reaches 100°C, it’s extremely hot. Be cautious and avoid burns. If it feels just warm, trust the core temperatures more. All other readings seem normal otherwise.

I used the AMD overdrive and verified the temperatures, but I’m still puzzled about what they actually are. Here are the readings from the AMD overdrive:

It’s understandable. Sometimes software using non-existent sensors can produce random numbers. Your computer should be okay. The Hwmonitor tool works well on your system too. You might want to try HWInfo64 to check for any unusual readings. What does Coretemp say? Have you looked into it?

BTW, are we talking overclocked or a 6700K? The 6700 is meant for around 65 W TDP. Look at the comments—there’s some interesting info. AMD actually describes Tctl as a thermal margin indicator, not a direct temperature reading. This explains why the temps can feel low even when things are warm; it’s often due to poor thermal paste or application. It’s a bit confusing, but that’s typical for K15h builds. The numbers can seem off, yet they’re not unusual.
