I possess an NZXT Kraken M22 AIO and a Ryzen 5 3600x. The CPU reports 95°C at idle in Windows, yet the BIOS indicates about 65°C. It seems something might be amiss, though I’m uncertain. In NZXT Cam it displays a constant 3900MHz, while Ryzen Master shows idle speeds between 980-1000 MHz. I have a few theories, but I value your perspective. The BIOS also lists the Gigabyte X570 board with "Full Power" settings enabled for the Smart Fan. My suspicion is that the cooling system may be malfunctioning, but I’m not confident about the exact cause.
Last night I attempted to fix the problem and noticed the pump was running but it sounded quiet. I’m confident I have a warranty, so I’ll reach out to them. I’m also uncertain if this is just a random issue, but later today after school I plan to reattach and re-seat the cooler to check if that resolves it.
Use Ryzen Master and hwinfo64 for precise temperature and frequency tracking. Other tools may not provide accurate data for Ryzen systems.
The program indicating 95C suggests a specific temperature setting. Make sure the CPU cooler is attached if you have it, and consider using the cooler until further notice.
Most of my setups report 95°C+ even when idle. I’m still trying to get the cooler out, though it’s not helping. My CPU was also re-seated and re-pasted without fixing the problem.
