CPU temperature rises while charging the laptop.
Following the same problem from a similar model with the exact Ryzen 7 4700U, the idle temperature stays at 40°C when unplugged, rises to 80-90°C when plugged in, and reaches a max of 100-110°C under load. The clock speeds and voltage changes match those of another Envy model. It’s unclear what to fix if the BIOS is affected. No laptop stand is present. A new fan was installed recently, but I haven’t noticed any performance issues yet.
OS = Windows? Power Options/Plan -> Advanced Settings: Adjusting min. proc. state when plugged in might improve idle temperatures, though it won’t make a difference during full load. Keeping the unit unplugged lets it breathe best, but fans help a bit. A little ventilation can make a difference, but nothing major unless you use heavy-duty foam seals like IETS GT500.
