Sometimes if my rear fan is exhaust, it slows down when I run Cinebench, but switching to intake brings a stable temperature around 86°C. Maybe I’ll change the AIO to intake later. The issue is that there’s no dust filter at the top and I often rest my feet on the case.

Generally, it's often advised to install an AIO intake rather than an exhaust system.

The front-mounted AIO stays cool at around 37-40°C even when idle. For a front-mount setup, it's better to keep it top-mounted rather than switching to side mount.

If it works then I’d suggest placing it on the side, keeping the top of the radiator above the CPU area, preferably with the pipes at the base. You can always shift the existing side and rear fans to help vent the top, maintaining warmth in your feet. (In a 30°C room this might not be essential for your feet, but it’s good for overall case airflow.) The main goal is testing and ensuring vents aren’t blocked on the case.

I favor releasing air from the top to achieve a balanced air pressure. This setup uses five intake fans and two exhaust fans, which provides a neutral result instead of a strongly positive or negative setting. Neither approach is definitively correct or incorrect.

Yes, but his supporters aren't very vocal. If he can't work quickly enough, it's better to let the cooling system run and finish the job. That's why the back of a case stays well-ventilated.
