CPU temperature is high, I7-10870H overheating concerns?
Hello! I understand you're looking for some clarification about your new laptop. It sounds like it's performing well overall, but you're noticing some temperature concerns during gaming sessions. I’d be happy to help explain what’s happening and whether it’s safe to keep using Turbo Mode.
Here, I corrected the text for you. Throttle stop? Possibly bad thermal paste in the factory? Are newer bios available?
After setting up Windows, I noticed the laptop also updated its BIOS, which means new BIOS versions are available. Regarding "Throttlestop," it might refer to overheating issues where only one core reaches high temperatures. The factory likely applied Liquid Metal paste, as mentioned on the website, but I’m still puzzled about why one core gets excessively hot while others stay normal.
Hello, do you still have that laptop? Have you managed to figure it out? I own a similar model but it's about two years old and has the same specifications. The forum post is around five months old. My machine now reaches 100 and with the cooler it hits 95 to 97 when pushed hard. To be clear, my RGX Strix G5 is still two years old. It has an Intel i7 10th gen, 10GB RAM, 8x2 configuration, around 500GB SSD, and the 1650Ti. It’s really good for me, handles high settings for games but gets warm. You can adjust settings to optimize performance and keep temperatures within limits—usually aiming for around 90°C, though it often exceeds that. It might handle up to 87°C in silent mode with lower graphics settings. I’ve made some minor changes to the case, drilled a few small holes to test, but it still feels inconsistent. The gameplay is fine even without monitoring temps. If I hadn’t checked the readings, I wouldn’t have noticed it getting so hot. Hope this thread is from this year! Have a great day everyone.
