CPU temperature is elevated during idle mode.
Hello everyone, I recently switched to a new CPU and noticed high idle temperatures around 70-80°C on startup. My friend suggested it might be an AIO problem, so I upgraded to a brand new one. The setup looks like this: CPU 5900X, motherboard B550 AORUS Master with latest BIOS, GPU 4070Ti, 64GB TRIDENT Z NEO, and an X63 NZXT AIO. The screenshot below shows my current configuration. I tested several setups at my local distributor: placing the CPU in different slots or with various RAM configurations. The temperatures stayed normal during idle. They also tried other combinations, but none resolved the issue. They offered to return the motherboard for repair, but even then, temps remained high on idle. They’re considering replacing the stock cooler with a new one. It’s possible both of my AIOs could be affected—what do you think? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
It's warm when the system is idle, yet at 35W the processor isn't resting and Ryzens temperatures rise quickly once CPU load exceeds a small percentage.
Performance is low and temperature fluctuations suggest poor cooling, particularly when operating at standard or near-standard configurations.
It's always around 75 degrees with the new AIO. Plus, my idle rate was about 50s when I got the chip. That doesn't seem right.
Now that summer arrives, my temperature hovers in the low 30s. With WCG it runs smoothly from the low to mid 80s and nears 4600MHz at just over 210W.
