Hey everyone, I have a 5600x with a 240AIO. The build was just a month ago when I moved in from my parents' place. The room is around 19-20°C. For a few weeks I've been relocating inside, and it's gotten warmer, up to 25-26°C. Since moving, I've noticed some temperature spikes while gaming—like when I played Warzone at home, the CPU would stay around 61-62°C but then jump to 66-68°C for a short time. After that it drops back down. I ran some stress tests and benchmarks, and the full load temps match what they were before; only the gaming sessions changed slightly. Plus, the fans are running a bit louder now. I moved the PC with my car, took out the GPU, and put it in a protective box to avoid shocks. Could this be related to the room temperature, or is something else causing the issue?
When the room gets warmer, the CPU tends to get warmer too, even with the same fan speeds. This usually happens because higher ambient temperatures push the fan to work harder. It’s okay to run in the 60s; anything below 80 is generally fine, and some sources suggest under 95 is typical now.
5600X is built to handle temperatures as high as 95°C. Adding PBO can push performance a bit higher when kept cooler, but beyond that manual adjustments are needed. Running at full limits safely requires avoiding excessive current draw.
