For chips from the same generation, adjustments generally aren't necessary elsewhere. Ensure you thoroughly remove all old thermal paste and apply fresh. If the chip is newer but compatible, a motherboard firmware update might still be needed. Windows typically doesn't reactivate unless the board changes.
