I upgraded from BIOS 4.20 to 4.30, then to 4.50, and finally to 4.50 again before moving to the 5600. I didn’t use the beta versions like 4.25 or 4.35. There were no special notes from Asrock beyond the general requirement to update for Renoir/Ryzen 5000 support.

You wouldn't have had any issues by skipping directly from version 4.2 to 4.5. The BIOS update is what enables CPU compatibility, regardless of the path taken.

You can simply upgrade directly to BIOS v4.5, avoiding intermediate versions like v4.3 and then v4.5. In general, when upgrading the CPU, it's always best to keep BIOS updated.

Check if the seller specifies otherwise, as it's usually in the details section.

Ensure no power disruption occurs; otherwise, you'll need to manually re-flash the BIOS with a developer.
