I think the 5950x will face similar thermal or performance challenges as the 3950x, so lower core counts should still perform well. I wouldn't be surprised if they're all comparable, like Zen 2, or if the 5600x/5800x actually lead thanks to the single-core Xeon feature.
3000 to 3600 represents roughly a 5% increase, which isn't significant, but speed is what prompted the upgrade.
