CPU stopped working after a power failure and odd display indicators.
Hello everyone, yesterday I connected a light to my wall and sparks appeared. The circuit breaker flipped off, and after resetting it, everything looked okay. But then, about an hour later, I tried to power on my PC, which wasn’t turned on before. The fans didn’t complete their normal cycle but kept running at a low speed. The screens showed nothing, and the computer failed to start. On my motherboard, the red DRAM indicator stayed lit, sometimes flashing to the CPU light. After checking everything—power supply, RAM, graphics card—I swapped out the CPU, and now it’s working again. The system I placed the “faulty” CPU in is still not booting, so it seems the chip was damaged. Now that it’s running, the red status lights are cycling during startup. I hadn’t noticed this before and am unsure if it’s typical. A quick search on Google didn’t yield much useful info, so I reached out for advice. Is this normal, or could something else be wrong?
