I have a Dell G5 laptop equipped with a 4600h CPU and an RX 5600 GPU. My performance is generally decent but sometimes unstable. I’ve noticed that game stuttering is linked to CPU spikes, which cause temporary usage surges and a noticeable drop in frames. After upgrading my RAM to 8+8, the stuttering no longer seems related to memory usage. Possible causes could include other hardware factors or software issues, and solutions might involve checking for driver updates, optimizing background processes, or ensuring proper cooling.

This is more of a laptop issue. This g5 is known to have A LOT of issues including stuttering not much to be done about it.

Consider reducing the voltage applied to the CPU.

Sadly, the smartshift feature on this laptop doesn<|pad|> to block undervolting. I wish I could adjust it...

It has several problems, but it still performs well compared to its instability. Using an external monitor allowed me to play games at 1440p resolution.

The main problem lies in its power handling. It disrupts performance significantly and causes crashes under certain conditions. This appears to be a faulty item from the early days. The common fix suggested is to cap frame rates and reduce resolution, preventing the GPU from operating at full capacity.

Smartshift, also known as power delivery system, is a good concept, but in reality it often causes problems.

Still, I had to mention that restricting your frames per second doesn't eliminate the stuttering. I attempted to play at 30 or 45 fps on certain games, but the issue persisted. It looks like the problem lies more with the CPU than the GPU.

It seems the best approach is to avoid using this laptop. The main issue is the GPU drawing too much power, which affects all G5 RX5600 models.
