Your CPU's multiplier is set at x7. When you're unsure about the value, CPUs use the FSB (front side bus) multiplied by this number to determine speed. Currently, the FSB is 230 MHz, and with a multiplier of 7, the effective speed becomes approximately 1.6 GHz. If you want to adjust, go into the BIOS and change the multiplier back to the default (19).

He strengthened the FSB and reduced the multiplier; the x7 appears weak, and the stock multiplier seems around x19.

The system just stopped working completely and Windows restarted itself without any clear warning. I attempted to use the built-in CPU overclocking feature from the BIOS, increasing it by 15%, but the performance actually dropped instead of improving. That’s really confusing.

FSB overclocking affects all connected components, including your HyperTransport and RAM, which may cause them to speed up too much and potentially stop working properly. It’s simpler to boost just the CPU by adjusting its ratio multiplier while keeping the rest unchanged at this time.

I believe I should stick with stock speeds, but I wanted to test overclocking via the BIOS easy overclock feature.
